  • 6 tbsp plain flour

  • approx. 6 tbsp water

  • salt and pepper

  • 220g tomato passata

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1/2 tsp sugar

  • 1 ball mozzarella 

  • optional toppings: meats, sliced veggies, basil, chilli oil, chilli flakes

Serves: 2

Complexity: Easy



1. Combine the flour and water in a small bowl until a ball of dough is formed

2. Split the dough into 2 equal balls and on a floured surface, roll out both balls as thinly as possible

3. Add a small amount of oil to a large frying pan on a medium heat, add one flatbread base and cook for around 5 minutes on each side until the dough starts to puff up

4. Meanwhile, combine the passata, dried basil, salt, pepper and sugar

5. Remove the pan from the heat, add the tomato base, any other toppings and the mozzarella

6. Place under a pre-heated grill for 4-6 minutes until the cheese is melted

7. Remove, top with any additional toppings and enjoy!
